How much does a logo cost?
Thinking of starting your own business and need a logo? Maybe you already have a business but need to give your logo a freshen up!
A logo is an essential part of any business, it grabs attention and separates you from competition.
What is the current cost of a logo? The cost of a logo can range anywhere from as low as €25.00 to €25k (or even higher!!) Here are some options to consider;
Do it yourself / Use a Logo maker
There are many online sources such as canva, Vistaprint, Fiver or Shutterstock where you can purchase readymade logos, icons or symbols. All you need to do is add your business name and hey presto, you have a logo.
Another option is to use many online logo makers/generators such as looka.com or tailorbrands.com. On these websites you can create a custom logo in a few minutes, download and away you go. However the only disadvantage with these are that anyone can buy the same logo as yours and add their business name. These sources are great for small start-ups and are quite popular with beauty & hair salon type businesses. They usually start as little as €25.00.
Hire a Graphic Designer
If you use an established graphic design company like my own business McGlynn Design (www.mcglynndesign.ie/logo-design-donegal), you can expect to pay on average from €350.00 to €1000. What is the benefit of hiring a designer or a graphic design studio? If you partner with McGlynn Design, you will get that personal touch. I will discuss with you and learn about your business. I research the sector your business is in and work on designing 3 / 4 concepts over 4 to 5 days developing it into your final logo. Once the logo is finalised, I then provide the final files in many different file formats including a brand guideline document explaining what fonts/colours etc I have used. These are important when developing a website. There are very good local companies such as MeanIT and Aidan Spence web design.
I hope the above is a help when choosing how to have your new logo designed. If you have any extra questions, please email myself at hello@mcglynndesign.ie
